Offbeat Beauties | Marco Corso S/S 2011

My last visit with Italian designer Marco Corso had plenty clicking and converting into bona fide lovers and customers. I hope his latest feat does the same. And, little did I know, but his S/S 2011 collection was sitting in my inbox for weeks. It's filled to the brim with the colour-rich on unexpected fabrics that look like they were cut into imperfection. Corso's background as a textile designer continues to shine through each collection. His ability to make beautifully textured pieces that are paired with hemmed shorts and draped skirts is what makes this collection covetable. It's quirky cool done by an emerging designer I can't get enough of. Above and below are a few of my favourites.

Prints + Patterns | Serial Cultura S/S 2011

I'm a huge fan of Serial Cultura, so of course I don't mind sharing a peak of their S/S 2011 collection. When I saw them on the list for a recent showroom visit, I couldn't resist the opportunity for a closer inspection of their printed goodies. I'm loving the prints on each of the dresses and the black jumper is so spring-weather appropos — I must have it! If you're not familiar with the brand, do visit here. Discover | Marco Corso

Milan-based textile and fashion designer, Marco Corso's A/W 2010/11 collection is brimming with so many possibilities. From the softest colour palette I've ever fallen in love with, to the amazing details that grace expertly cut jackets, dresses, and coats. Everything looks soft to the touch and has me trying hard to see them in person. I look forward to seeing more from this emerging designer, for now explore some of his collection above and below.

Artful World | Tramando

Our final feature for 2009 is all about Argentinian brand Tramando, which is headed by textile genius Martin Churba and his awesome creative team. You must visit and explore their world because it's very much how I see the future — a collaborative effort. Below is just a snippet of what I love from them, expect to see and read more about them very soon. I've also included pieces from their S/S 2010 ready-to-wear collection, which "explores the depths of African roots". A bit trendy but still gorgeous. It's filled with beautiful colours and details that pop!

Discover | Serial Cultura

I saw these fotos over at San-Francisco-based designer Jen Jennings blog for her label Serial Cultura and couldn't resist sharing. Despite these pieces being from her S/S 09 collection, they're pretty spot-on and exemplify why I'm digging her designs. The prints are indeed the mainstay but it's also the interesting shapes and colour selections that pull me over the edge into fandom. The pieces below were styled by stylist/journalist Sydney Pfaff — who does an outstanding job of highlighting Ms. Jennings specialty of merging printed art with fashion. The Print Studio | Karolina York

Sydney-based print studio Karolina York is behind some of the most beautiful prints to hit the Australian and New York runways. They've worked with designers like Diane von Furstenberg, Bec & Bridge, Sass + Bide to Tuleh and they've consistently taken their clients/designers visions and turned them into wearable reality. I believe these talented individuals need to be brought to the forefront more often, as the collaborative process needs to be praised more. Expect to see a few more shared in the coming weeks.
