Hehe, well hey we're all entitled. I personally don't "get" the rage but I don't think she's meaningless at the moment, in 20 years? Who knows, hell we all may be meaningless by then {hehe}. Some of these artist need to learn about brand loyalty from Sade! At 50 she still creates a buzz deeper than most half-naked gyrating queens out there, no offense if you're half-naked and gyrate regularly. I'm just saying. ASVOF is sharing Sandra Buckland's serenity. Yatzer is sharing Brasilian Artful foot candy, do check 'em out! Made in Brasil is sharing a Vogue Brasil cover we both can be proud of!

This week has been a hectic one with several features going on the backburner til' next week. I do apologise but thank you all again who made the World AIDS Day Join {Red} giveaway a success, considering that the giveaway was for only 2 days! You can see the winners here. I'm off to London this evening for an interview of a lifetime, with an artist who will be in the first issue of Sejais!

You may remember the gold flowers above from designer Juanjo Oliva, who I featured back in June. The dress  is from his A/W 09-10 collection. Love + Dreams and HeBreathes will be updated over the weekend, so check them both if you can. Goldie is actually in Paris working with a new media alignment, because SheBreathes Media has a Paris and London address now. Which means we're still looking for editorial assistants in both cities!

Soldier of Love | Sade

Yesterday I received official word that Sade would release a new album on February 8th 2010, dubbed Soldier of Love. I tweeted about it. I'm excited and indeed Sejais will be there {in more ways than I can reveal right now}! You can pre-order the album because the hiatus is over and the Soldiers of Love are returning to the scene with sustenance for your soul!

I saw this editorial and asked for thoughts on twitter. So I pose the same question to you dear readers. I'm sadden by the passing of model Daul Kim, RIP and prayers to her family. This editorial is both hilarious and insane. I'm obsessed with these candies! I enjoyed this article + this one.

SheBreathes Media is officially up and running. You can see the Masthead {thus far} for Sejais, and a few openings and internships at our NYC office. Young, independent and free!

I've been having a battle with the Giveaway Newsletter it's growing and the company I'm using just isn't cutting it. So please forgive any delays. November is coming. The list now stands at a little over 3K, which is amazing! Thanks to a lovely reader/subscriber I now use Excel to pick the winners, because it was a task any other way. I'm trying to figure out how to show you the picks without revealing email addresses, if you have any suggestions please feel free to share them. I'm also thinking about capping it for 2009. Any thoughts?

I know I don't always get to all my fellow bloggers daily, especially the ones who come here and support me, who send emails, and we build behind the scenes. The weekly breathable links are back and this week there was more than enough to keep us all busy, enjoy!

This is simply beautiful! HeBreathes is sharing Contributing Editor's "Out of Africa" editorial and is feeling Jaded by Knight's showroom visit. The Fashion Informer has Random Questions for fellow cobbler George Esquivel. Mischo Beauty is sharing Scott Barnes Body Bling and Ebony has a fab giveaway going on. Do visit John Simon Daily because he's probably covering some fab event that we all wished we had attended! Mei-Li is always dropping nuggets for those on the journey towards professional fulfillment in this crazy world we call fashion. I've fallen for Antler's blog you should too. NJAL, is having it's first Pop-Up Shop in Notting Hill this weekend! Diane from ASVOF has Georgette Koning and United Nude!

Shaena Henry's Huffington Post's piece is food for thought. A reader sent me this link and asked me my opinion. Nick Knight is amazing for more than ShowStudio, he actually tackled some real issues in fashion and continues to innovate, love the rebels! Jill from Trend de la Creme dissects collections like no one else can. Happy Birthday to one of my favourite bloggers, Brandie! Sunster, has you covered on all the fashion weeks and you'll love his stunning images! I will be seeing this movie as I've read the book. It's a universal story that's not easily digested but I think is worthy of a global audience.

We have a Youtube channel now, affectionately dubbed SheBreathestv. Sejais is on twitter and the website is coming soon. IKEA paid the office space a visit, so expect updates on Love + Dreams, as there are plans to pimp-out the office nicely.

In other awesome news that I've tweeted about, but wanted to share here! I will be heading to Rio in 2 weeks to shoot an editorial for the magazine and I can't wait! Way Models will be supplying us all the Brasileiras we'll need for this shoot. I can't wait to share Sejais with the world! I know some say "you've never seen something like this before" but I must say you haven't, hehe. Another quick reminder SheBreathes will be updating over the next few weeks, so things may be a bit spotty but know it's all to give you a better experience when you visit. Breathable Links

So, I wanted to bring back the weekly links I use to do but stopped. I liked doing them because I often tweet about things but not everyone who reads SheBreathes follow the tweets. I was sharing them on the Spillover, but will bring them back here on a weekly basis for now.

Small Update:

I've hinted at this for over a year now, I tend to tweet about it more than I write about it, but I am now the Editor-in-Chief of a new magazine, which will be printed biannually starting next March. We have no plans to take it monthly and there will be an online companion just not in the capacity that most magazines work. I won't tell you what type of magazine it is but I will show you in January when we will release an "alternate" cover online with alternate content. I know a bit convoluted but I think you'll love it. If you've been reading SheBreathes for a while then you already have an idea of what it will be like. It is indeed how I see the world. Earlier this week we did a photoshoot with some models I've been pining over for a while, it was truly nerve-wrecking + a dream come true all wrapped in one, thus why the posts have been slow coming on here {sorry}. It was the type of editorial I wished my favourite magazines would do, but instead of constantly complaining and adding commentary, I took a good friend {who is the investor/Publisher} up on an offer and decided to change the things in the world of fashion + magazines that I don't like. We plan to bring you over 200 pages of inspiration! The shows I attended in Milan and Paris were for the magazine but I promise I'm working on a snippet of them to share on here, so stay tuned!

We have an awesome team thus far and without them none of this would be possible. I am so grateful to have a group of people who believe in the vision and want to see it come to fruition! But I never stop searching and I can't discover it all. Please submit your portfolios, lookbooks, writing samples etc to me at: ds@sejaismag.com.

I also wanted to add that the other most exciting part has been seeing the advertisers {yes there will be some but not many} who have purchased space based on a "mock-up" of the magazine + our media kit. Don't believe the hype when they say luxury brands don't advertise in diverse magazines, because we've seen the opposite. Perhaps it's the Obama effect, but I'd like to think it has everything to do with the people who are investing their time and creativity in the magazine. We have a major stylist working with us on the cover, it's insane. Just wait til you see who he is and who makes the cover! I'm excited but no worries SheBreathes isn't going anywhere. She still has a purpose ;)

Love + Dreams has been sufficiently updated and there is loads of Brasil like, the art showing I attended at Brasilian spa Maria Bonita in SoHo for artist Damon Johnson. Brasilian-French painter Isabelle Tuchband and Brasilian home decor haven Micasa's collaboration with designer Alexandre Herchcovitch.

HeBreathes is finally being updated {hint, hint, nudge} so visit and indulge, he's slowly building an arsenal of the utterly breathable for the lovely lads out there. I describe HeBreathes as "an ode to all the men I've loved before" and indeed it is.

I have a business crush on wait . . . Ivanka Trump, yes I do. I happen to like her and encourage my readers to pick-up her book. I will. I just think she's kinda dope. You might too.

This is hilarious. Myron Christian's travel photography is breathtaking! I dig this but must sigh on this and this. He is always spot-on and I love when he updates because he says things I don't have to repeat.
