Brooklyn-based emerging designer Sunghee Bang sent me her Fall/Winter 2010 lookbook a few weeks ago, and I've finally perused and processed it all. The collection is filled with tailored coats, zippered details, chunky knits, soft leathers, and lightweight wool pieces. While, not every piece translates well off the pages of her lookbook — the exposed zippered shorts being one of them. There are plenty of pieces that do, like the tailored coats with zippered and draped details, chunky knitted sweater blouse, and a cowl neck dress with gorgeous piping and leather detailing. Sunghee intertwines the soft and hard aesthetic into her silhouettes without it screaming "I'm edgy", which is the cherry topper. It's also why I can't wait to see what she does next. The mere fact that some of her prints found their way into Alexander McQueen's S/S 2009 collection, is more than enough to put her on my "one to watch" list. Do visit her space and explore more, as there are some definite winners in her S/S 2010 collection as well.
