Margarita Saplala's S/S 2010 collection is a long way from her first collection of printed t-shirts. With lush fabrics and a colour rich collection of printed silk dresses, rompers, and shirts, she's finally hit that distinct mark that many designers dream of — the well branded thanks to her prints and ability to combine them with the right fabrics and silhouettes. This is the point that all designers try to reach and I'm happy to see Ms. Saplala emerge with strong enough pieces to solidify her space at the emerging designer table. Below are a few key pieces we liked during a recent visit to her NYC showroom.
