I've been hearing a lot about Zainab Sumu's L.A. boutique Zainab, and I've been itching to visit it. I will get my wish towards the middle of December, but before that happens I couldn't resist sharing her new digs on here. Ms. Sumu use to have an appointment-only boutique in Hollywood, that was run out of her flat, but now has a space where anyone can visit. The Sierra Leone-born owner says the boutique's aesthetic is grounded in her love for Africa and her home country. She's also the former sales manager for Commes des Garcons, which explains the well curated space. Zainab carries designers like Jeremy Laing, Azzedine Alaia, Junya Watanabe and Ohne Titel — If it's on the cutting edge of fashion, her boutique carries it. Visit and peruse the online space, but if you're in LA then visit and indulge, because I will very soon. You can find a more extensive article on Ms. Sumu here.
