News via Cathy Horyn's NY Times blog that the July Issue of Italian Vogue will will only feature black models, all shot by photographer Steven Miesel. Below is a few of the fotos that will be in the issue, you can visit here and here to read more about it and learn about the inspiration behind it all, from the editor of the magazine Ms. Franca Sozanni.
I must say Italian Vogue has always been different to me. Their version of Vogue is always bigger and more conceptual so in a lot of ways this doesn't surprise me. I think it's a bold and beautiful move that I find inspiring and this news couldn't come a better time for me -- you'll see why soon.

There is a movement happening since I last chatted about the issues of race and fashion on here and it's happening on many levels and by many people. I'm a fighter for a world that's more global where we can all be represented, that {to me} is truly what makes this world beautiful. And I support those who are willing to cause a bit of a stir to make this world truly global on every level from fashion to the telly.
I'm all about solutions and changing the things I don't like. I really liked some of the things the editor Franca Sozanni said in the Q&A with Ms. Horyn. So while you're doing your bookstore or newsstand run be on the look-out for the July issue of Italian Vogue because it might just make you scream "Bravo".
