I'm sorry posts have been slow coming, but I have started school again, it's odd, considering I haven't been in a while, but it's also very exciting!
Since today wasn't a school day, I played catch-up with a few friends, and did some major errand running. At the end of the day, It was nice to sit down for a lovely meal at one of my new-found places to eat, that does it well; Havana Central, in Union Square on 17th Street (between Broadway and 5th).
When we entered, we were immediately greeted by a smiling (and handsome) waiter in an authentic white Guayabera, guiding us to a spot in the back. The ambiance in this place was very intimate, everything reminded me of my trip (long ago) to Cuba. I had Arroz con Pollo and it was delicious, the meat melted in my mouth and the Mojitos were some of the best I've tasted. What's really cool is they have a special on drinks almost nightly, so we didn't break the bank for a drink or two. My companions had Cuban sandwiches, and judging by the lack of conversation they were good.
So, if you're in nyc, and are looking for an authentic Cuban restaurant do give Havana Central a try, you won't be disappointed.
